STATEMENT OF COMPUTER-USE POLICY AND PROCEDURES


POLICY:
Technology on campus is committed to forwarding the intellectual growth of the student. Each student who accesses this technology must adhere to the guidelines and procedures set forth in this document and shall be held responsible to know, understand, and follow these procedures.

Computer services (including lab computers, printers, networks, software, electronic mail, and Internet access connections) at Black Hills State University are provided for use by Black Hills State University students for educational purposes only. It is the responsibility of students to see these systems are used in an efficient, ethical, and lawful manner. Although user IDs are required for access to the University system, these systems should not be viewed by the student as private or secure. In fact, the University reserves the right to monitor the content and activities of all accounts on the system.

Compliance will assure students receive competent and effective service. Noncompliance will be adjudicated, as indicated in the Student Conduct Code of the South Dakota Board of Regents, as outlined in the BHSU Student Handbook.
