L Drive Help/FAQs

Method 1 (On Campus)

Windows XP/Vista/7

  1. Login to a BHSU computer with faculty/staff/student credentials.
  2. Open "My Computer" or "Computer"
  3. Double click on "bhsufiles on bhsu-sfs (L:)" or "Disconnected Network Drive (L:)"
  4. Navigate to the desired folder

Mac OS X

  1. Click on the background on the Mac with the left mouse button to activate the Finder toolbar if not already at the top.
  2. On the Finder toolbar, click on Go
  3. Select Connect to Server
  4. Type in https://ldrive.bhsu.edu/ldrive for accessing the L Drive
    1. If accessing the MacShare enter in the following https://ldrive.bhsu.edu/macshare
  5. Enter in user credentials with Firstname.Lastname format
  6. Navigate to desired folders

Method 2 (On and Off Campus)

Windows XP/Vista/7

  1. Open Internet Explorer 7 or 8
  2. In the address bar type in ldrive.bhsu.edu
    1. This will redirect the user to the L Drive login landing page
  3. Click on LOGIN: Windows L Drive Secure Access over HTTPS (Internet Explorer Only)to login to the L Drive
    1. Or click on LOGIN: MacShare Secure Access over HTTPS (Internet Explorer Only) to login to the MacShare
  4. Enter in user credentials with Firstname.Lastname format
  5. Navigate to desired folders

Mac OS X

  1. Click on the background on the Mac with the left mouse button to activate the Finder toolbar if not already at the top.
  2. On the Finder toolbar, click on Go
  3. Select Connect to Server
  4. Type in https://ldrive.bhsu.edu/ldrive for accessing the L Drive
    1. If accessing the MacShare enter in the following https://ldrive.bhsu.edu/macshare
  5. Enter in user credentials with Firstname.Lastname format
  6. Navigate to desired folders

Method 3 (Off Campus)

Windows XP

  1. Open "My Computer"
  2. In the menu on the left within the "Other Places" section, click on "My Network Places"
  3. In "My Network Places" in the menu on the left, find "Add a network place", this will start the Add Network Place Wizard, click Next.
  4. You will now be asked "Where do you want to create this network place?", you will select "Choose another network location. Specify the address of a Website, network location or FTP site. After selecting click Next.
  5. You will now be asked "What is the address of this network place?" type in the following according to the users need in the "Internet or network address:" box. Click Next after entering in the address as indicated below.
    1. https://ldrive.bhsu.edu/ldrive/ for accessing the L Drive
    2. or https://ldrive.bhsu.edu/macshare/ for accessing the MacShare
  6. Enter in user credentials with Firstname.Lastname format
  7. You will now be asked "What do you want to name this place?", name it "L Drive", in the "Type a name for this network place:" box.
  8. At the "Completing the Add Network Place Wizard", leave the box checked to "Open this network place when I click Finish. Click Finish.
  9. Navigate to desired folders.
  10. Before closing My Network Places, copy the L Drive network place folder within the window to the users desktop for easy access.

Windows Vista

  1. Open "Computer"
  2. Right click in the windows blank area and select "Add a network location"
  3. You have now opened the "Add Network Location Wizard", click Next.
  4. You will be asked "Where do you want to create this network location?", select "Choose a custom network location, Specify the address of a website, network location or FTP site." Click Next.
  5. You will now be asked to Specify the location of your website.type in the following according to the users need in the "Internet or network address:" box. Click Next after entering in the address as indicated below.
    1. https://ldrive.bhsu.edu/ldrive/ for accessing the L Drive
    2. or https://ldrive.bhsu.edu/macshare/ for accessing the MacShare
  6. Enter in user credentials with Firstname.Lastname format
  7. You will now be asked "What do you want to name this location?", name it "L Drive", in the "Type a name for this network location:" box.
  8. Navigate to desired folders.
  9. Before closing Computer, copy the L Drive network place folder within the window to the users desktop for easy access.

Windows 7

  1. Open "Computer"
  2. Right click in the windows blank area and select "Add a network location"
  3. You have now opened the "Add Network Location Wizard", click Next.
  4. You will be asked "Where do you want to create this network location?", select "Choose a custom network location, Specify the address of a website, network location or FTP site." Click Next.
  5. You will now be asked to Specify the location of your website.type in the following according to the users need in the "Internet or network address:" box. Click Next after entering in the address as indicated below.
    1. https://ldrive.bhsu.edu/ldrive/ for accessing the L Drive
    2. or https://ldrive.bhsu.edu/macshare/ for accessing the MacShare
  6. Enter in user credentials with Firstname.Lastname format
  7. You will now be asked "What do you want to name this location?", name it "L Drive", in the "Type a name for this network location:" box.
  8. Navigate to desired folders.
  9. Before closing Computer, copy the L Drive network place folder within the window to the users desktop for easy access.

Mac OS X

  1. Download Goliath for Mac OS X from http://www.webdav.org/goliath
  2. Once downloaded, it will ask the user to drag the Goliath 1.0.1 folder to Applications, do as indicated.
  3. Navigate to Applications
  4. Open the Goliath 1.0.1 folder
  5. Open the Goliath 1.0.1 Application
  6. You will now be prompted with the "New WebDAV Connection" box enter in the one of the following URLs according to the users need.
    1. https://ldrive.bhsu.edu/ldrive/ for accessing the L Drive
    2. or https://ldrive.bhsu.edu/macshare/ for accessing the MacShare
  7. Enter in user credentials with Firstname.Lastname format
  8. Don't do anything under "Advanced Settings"
  9. Click OK
  10. Navigate to desired folders.
  11. Before closing Goliath, click on File from the Goliath menu, and select, "Save Connection"
  12. Save it as L Drive, specify a location and click Save.
