Tallent

Annie Tallent, the first white woman in the Black Hills, arrived in 1874.

Clay Curran was a principal in the Lead school system from 1920 until 1953. In 1960 Mr. Curran wrote "Biography of Mrs. Annie Tallent, 1827 - 1901," which he revised in 1967. The collection contains copies of his manuscripts, along with some of his research and correspondence. Photocopies of the obituaries of C.C. Curran and Louise Curran are included.
