Black Hills National Forest Historical Collection

Collection contains photographs, slides, negatives, lantern slides, manuscript material, maps, artifacts and books on deposit at the Leland D. Case Library from the Black Hills National Forest Headquarters and Ranger Stations. The material documents the history of the Black Hills National Forest. Topics include: forest management, recreation, Civilian Conservation Corps, construction of roads, trails, and lakes, watershed management, forest fires and fire fighting. The collection covers approximately 75 years of Black Hills National Forest from the beginnings of the Forest Service around 1910 to the 1980´s.
