The responsibilities
of this department include reference/research services
for students, faculty, and public patrons; major staffing
of the Information Desk; selection of reference resources;
maintenance of the reference area; and participation
in public service policy decisions.
Instructional Sessions
Faculty who wish to schedule an informational instruction
session for a class may call or send an e-mail to Scott Ahola with information on date and time for
class session. These sessions will be held in your
classroom when possible. If equipment for instruction
is not available in the classroom, the lab on the
lower floor of the library will be scheduled.
Information Desk Hours
Individual assistance/instruction is provided for
any patron who stops at the Information (Reference)
Desk of the library. The normal hours to meet the
Reference Librarian without prior appointment are:
Monday through Friday: 9 AM – 5 PM

Do you need some help with your research or have a
reference question? Please
submit your question online. A reference librarian
will respond to your question within 24 hours Monday-Friday.
This service is available to any BHSU student, faculty,
or staff.
Online Research Databases
The library subscribes to a number of online
research databases where you can search for full-text
articles, abstracts, and citations in your research
topics. Please follow the instructions given on the
databases page. Please e-mail Scott Ahola , if you need help in searching or accessing
any database. We also provide online
help in finding a book, an article, and a government
document.
