Workstudy Employment (Federal Workstudy program for BHSU students)
E.Y. Berry Library-Learning Center employs dozens of BHSU students every year under the Federal Workstudy Program. This opportunity provides students practical skills and extra income. Are there any specific qualifications necessary for employment?
Students must be eligible and have been awarded Federal Workstudy.

Are there any library workstudy positions open for students without Federal Workstudy?
The library has four positions that do not require a Federal Workstudy award.

What types of workstudy positions are available in the library?
The library has a wide variety of workstudy positions ranging from public service to clerical or Web/digital technology. In our Circulation Department, students work with the public checking material in and out, as well as reshelve books, and maintain the order of the shelves. In our Special Collections area, students retrieve material for use within the library, and work with our noncirculating collections. In our Cataloging area, students primarily assist with the processing of new material. In our Curriculum, Government Documents and Periodicals areas, students shelve material and maintain those collections respectively. In our Digital Technology areas, students assist with the maintenance of the library website.

How many workstudy positions are available in the library?
The library hires between 35 and 40 students each academic semester.

Where are application forms available for library workstudy positions?
The application forms are available on this web page or in the Acquisitions Office in the library. All forms should be turned in to the Acquisitions Office of the library.
